The Da Vinci code- Dan Brown

"What is history but a fable agreed upon?"
What can I tell about this book? This was such a book that it goes beyond my vocabulary to express it in the right words. Lets just say, if this book didn't raise your eyebrows and didn't drop your jaw, then you are INHUMAN. With each flipping page, this book rose higher and higher in my list of favorite books. As I mentioned before, there are no real words that could describe this masterpiece. It was literally FLAWLESS(atleast for me). The genre being suspense and thriller, this book was also very erudite and realistic. Dan Brown(author) is a true mastermind. His plots, plot twists, literature, world building and even characterization is just out of the world. He is a highly gifted man and his works are simply eye opening. Now lets get to the plot summary, shall we?

After Langdon's lecture in Paris, the Harvard symbologist had an appointment with the renowned elderly curator of the Louvre, Jacques Sauniere who apparently wanted to discuss something with him. Although, having no idea what the discussion was going to be about, he was very pleased to have been invited to visit the curator. But when he reaches the Louvre, he sees no signs of Sauniere showing up. Disappointed he goes back to his room to sleep. But later, in the dead of night, he gets a call from the reception who claims that the DCPJ(Direction Centrale Police Judiciare) wanted to urgently meet him. After a few moments the Lieutenant is in his very room asking him to come to the Louvre. When they reach, he is shocked to see Sauniere's dead cold body lying on the floor with baffled symbols all around him. Luckily, Langdon has a gifted French cryptologist , Sophie Neveu, by his side to decipher these codes and find out the message Sauniere is trying to pass on. As they continue to follow the trail of clues, they are stunned to discover them hidden in the famous works of Leonardo Da Vinci. Now their job is to find out the true killer and also the message being conveyed by Sauniere. But with so many risks will they be able to make it through?...

Now, I liked this book very much as I crave for suspense and conspiracies.
But I would not recommend this to people who don't like crime fiction as this book contains pretty much of only that. But I must say, I enjoyed this book to its fullest, the way Brown potrays his characters, the way he creates suspense and of course, his plot twists. You literally wouldn't have the faintest clue as to what is coming next. We even get to learn a lot from this book-about the true meaning of different symbols, the real story of Christ and rise to Christianity, about secret societies, sacred rituals, churches and what not. This book was also a blockbuster hit and 92% like it. I would personally rate this book a 4.8/5 and would recommend this to all the thriller lovers out there. Thank You so much!
